Fondazione Ospedale Salesi is a No-Profit Organization (NPO) working in close co-operation with Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Ospedali Riuniti Ancona (AOU ORA), specifically with the regional children’s and mother hospital.
The organization was founded in July 2004 and its goals is to aid and support actions and initiatives aimed to ensure the best quality service for all patients with particular focus on the children’s needs.
Fondazione Ospedale Salesi objectives are:
- To strengthen and improve the community’s feelings of sympathy, respect and empathy
- To meet the citizens’ requirements
- To improve the comfort quality standards for both patients and their families
- To support the development of scientific research aimed at improving and/or providing the necessary care and training
With particular regard to the care humanization, Fondazione Ospedale Salesi implements the following projects in different wards of the hospital: pet therapy, clown therapy, music therapy, pre- anesthesia/surgery psychological support, non-pharmacological treatment of pain, psychological support to the parents of the hospitalized children. All these projects are complementary to the traditional treatments.
As a coordinator of the MUSic, Performing and Creative Arts Professions Involved in Healthcare: a portal for VET promotion and mutual recognition of profiles (MUSA) Project, Fondazione Ospedale Salesi is responsible for the project coordination, general project management and administration.
